  • How to get to Tongdao and Hongjiang for a visit

    Question: 2012-04-17

Is it possible for a foreigner to visit the villages around Tongdao and to go from there to Hongjiang with the bus or bike?

    Answer: 2012-04-17

    Dear Sir:

Thanks for your mail and welcome to Hunan!

It is certain that you can visit the villages around Tongdao and go from there to Hongjiang. The traffic route is as follows: Huaihua City-bus-Hongjiang-bus-Tongdao-train-Jishou City-bus-Fenghuang Ancient Town. We do not know where you are now, but you can get to Huaihua first, and bus is always the convenient and available traffic vehicle for traveling in such places.

For you information, you can learn more about the tourist attractions around Tongdao or Hongjiang, Huaihua City in our website (http://www.enghunan.gov.cn/Tourism/PlacesToGo/). In the left column of Hunan’s cities, please click Huaihua, and you will see the introductions of such tourist attractions as Tongdao and Hongjiang.

    Wish you a nice trip!

    Question: 2012-04-18

Thank you for the fast answer!
Is it easy to visit villages like Yutouzhai, Pingri and Henglinzhai?
Is it possible to find a hotel in Tongdao?

I come to Hunan in two weeks, it's no too much raining in this season?

    Manu

    Answer: 2012-04-18

After tough searching for information on Tongdao tourism, we finally find that the three villages you mentioned are accessible routes. Yutouzhai is located in Shuangjiang Township, 8 kilometers away from Tongdao County, and the most famous one for its beautiful and original sceneries. Pingri and Henglinzhai are both in Pingtan Township, 34 kilometers south away from the county.

Besides, you do not need to worry about finding a hotel in a tourist site. The hotel is usually cheap but clean and comfortable.

The weather this time of year is always rainy; it is very annoying but not necessarily depressing when you have a visit in these mysterious villages.

  • Request for info of Changsha Pearl Museum

    Question: 2012-03-27

Hi, I’m Jerico from Jewellery News Asia magazine.I would like to know more about the Changsha Pearl Museum, which is set to open in May. Can you send me additional information and images?

    Best Regards,

    Jerico Abila

    Assistant Editor

    Jewellery News Asia

    Answer: 2012-03-28

    Dear Sir/Madam:

    Thanks for your mail.

First, we are wondering if there is a “Changsha Pearl Museum” in the city. After searching information on the internet, it is assumed that the museum you referred to is the pearl-themed multi-functional gallery “Greater China Pearl’s Cultural Museum”. It is a project included in Tianyuandifang International Jewelry Circus.

We called a property consultant of the circus, and were told that they do not have any pictures now since the museum is not open to the public.

However, to our pleasant surprise, we found a video which is exactly the introduction of the circus and the museum in it. You can watch the video at

     http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjIyNzIwMTI0.html.

It is believed that you can have detailed information of the museum.

    Sincerely

  • Where I can apply for an internship in journalism

    Question: 2012-03-19

    Dear Sir/Madam

I recently graduated from high school in South Africa. I will soon be relocating to China with my mother, who will be an English teacher there. I am very interested in studying journalism and broadcasting. I have great writing skills and a way with words. I love doing research and investigating people, place and events. I believe I will be a great journalist and news reporter. I am dynamic person and I enjoy new challenges. I not afraid to go places and I love to travel.

Do you offer any internship opportunities or do you know where I can apply for an internship in this field? I also want to study journalism and communication and will do this part time or online if this is necessary. I have attached a photo of myself. I would greatly appreciate your help.

    Kind regards

    Nidia Lemmer

    Answer: 2012-03-19

    Dear Nidia:

Thanks for your mail and welcome to China.

Here is Hunan Official Web Portal, the international window of Hunan Province in central south China. We would like to know more details:

1: Which city do you plan to come?

    2: Can you speak Chinese?

If you plan to go big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, you can contact with their media, like English newspapers and TVs, to ask them if they can offer an internship for a journalist. However, it is highly recommended that Hunan Province is also a great place worth come and Hunan’s media industry is the topnotch across the country.

    Good luck!

    Kind Regards

  • Apply for a teacher qualification certificate

    Qustion: 2012-03-18

    Dear Sir or Madam:

Where can I apply for a teacher qualification certificate?

    Answer: 2012-03-19

    Dear Sir or Madam:

    Thanks for your mail.

By "a teacher qualification certificate", we can only guess that it is TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), since you did not make clear explanations of the certificate in your mail.

If so, you can find more information on the web http://www.tesolchina.org/. According to the website, Hunan Province has not been authorized to organize the exam yet. It seems that you have to take the test in other cities outside the province.

If not, please state clearly about the certificate.

    Kind regards
